The Guinean architect Marinho de Pina shared his knowledge of traditional, environmentally friendly architecture. Pina wrote his master’s thesis on traditional building materials and architectural and design techniques of the various ethnic groups in Guinea-Bissau. This started to develop a deeper collective understanding with the local community and concentrated on understanding the dynamics and needs of the community, which articulates itself through the local needs and imagining the Mediateca together.
